Following All-Night Vigil on Monday evening, 5 December, 2005, the seminary community gathered in the auditorium to celebrate the feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. This annual event included a meal, fellowship, Christmas caroling, and a visit by St. Nicholas. St. Nicholas, known to children throughout the world, was a bishop in present-day Turkey in the early 4th century and is noted for his extreme generosity. As St. Nicholas is noted for giving, often very sacrificially, it has become customary in Orthodox countries to exchange gifts on this day. Holy Hierarch, Father Nicholas, pray to God for us!
