On April 13 and 14, 2010, Fr. John Kowalczyk, Director of Field
Education at St Tikhon’s, visited Marquette University (the Jesuit
University in Milwaukee, WI) to make several presentations about his
work as a prison chaplain with mentally ill inmates at SCI-Waymart. He
gave presentations to Fr. John Jones’ classes on the Philosophy and
History of Crime and Punishment. He also gave a presentation to “Soup
with Substance,” a program that offers faculty, staff and students an
opportunity to discuss issues relating to peacmaking and social
justice. Fr. John’s visit was made possible by the Marquette University
Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Philosophy, the
Center for Peacemaking, and Campus Ministry.
