Saint Tikhon’s Seminary, in partnership with the Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM) and the Hellenic Foundation, is pleased to announce a special retreat titled “A Look Into Prison Ministry,” to be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Des Plaines, Illinois.
This half-day retreat invites Orthodox clergy, the faithful, and anyone interested in outreach to explore the urgent and sacred work of prison ministry. Through a series of presentations and interactive sessions, participants will learn how they can begin or deepen their engagement with incarcerated individuals.
The event will feature presentations from:
• V. Rev. John Parker, Dean of St. Tikhon’s Seminary
• Nicholas Petrogeorge, Executive Director of OCPM
• V. Rev. John Kowalczyk, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology at St. Tikhon’s Seminary
and Co-Director of Training and Spiritual Care at OCPM
• Natalie Becerra, OCPM Graduate and Project Manager
