Fr. John Kowalczyk to attend OCPM Meeting in Houston, Texas

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, Very Rev. John Kowalczyk, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology at St. Tikhon’s Seminary and Co-Director of Spiritual Formation for Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM), will travel to Houston, Texas. He will begin his trip by going on a tour of the newly established St. Constantine Orthodox Christian School in downtown Houston. On the evening of the same day, Fr. John and Fr. Stephen Powley will speak at a fundraiser dinner about the changing lives of inmates and putting Christ in the prison setting.

The next day, Fr. John will attend the OCPM board/staff meeting and report on his many trips. Fr. John will also speak on the Orthodox Certificate Program's second year, which has been underway via remote computer-based learning for the past two months. The new cohort of eight students from across the United States will begin their in-person residency on the campus of St. Tikhon’s Seminary the first week of June, during which time they will enter the SCI Waymart institution for volunteer training.
