The Annual Alumni Picnic was held this past Thursday, September 11, 2014.
A special thanks to Fr. Theodore Boback (STOTS 1972), Fr. Joseph Gallick (STOTS 1970) and the St. Tikhon's Alumni Association for providing the food and drinks for what has become one of the most beloved social activities of the school year.
This year each of the returning alumni were asked to share something about themselves and their journey both to and from the seminary as well as offer words of encouragement to the seminarians, their families, and to the entire St. Tikhon’s Community as this new academic year begins.
Earlier in the day the Alumni Association met for its annual fall meeting. Many things were discussed including several upcoming initiatives, fundraising ideas, and the appointment of new regional coordinators. Most notably, in an almost unanimous decision, the motion was passed to allow for the use of electronic communication technology in all future meetings of the Alumni Association in an effort to ensure that even those separated by thousands of miles can still participate in annual meetings and that their collective voices can help shape the future direction of the association.
We would like to thank the Alumni Association for all that they do in helping to ensure that the St. Tikhon's Seminary Community is not one limited by walls and stone and acreage but that it is a relationship, constantly realized, and is not bound by place, age or circumstance.
