Programs of Study

Guided by a focus on our institutional mission and self-understanding as held within the historical memory and tradition not only of the Seminary, but also in the larger Church, and mindful of the example of Christ Himself, as demonstrated in His calling of the disciples, the Seminary offers two residential programs in priestly formation:

Master of Divinity

A three-year graduate first-professional Master of Divinity (M. Div.) degree program is offered for students who have received baccalaureates and/or higher academic degrees from recognized institutions of higher education.

Field Education & Internship

As an integral part of residential priestly formation at St Tikhon's Seminary, the Field Education and Internship Program concentrates on the practical formation of dedicated pastors and spiritual counselors who will lovingly and courageously shepherd the flock of Christ entrusted to their care.

Certificate in Diaconal Formation

St. Tikhon’s Seminary offers a Certificate Program in Diaconal Formation in collaboration with St. Stephen’s Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA.  This certificate program is designed to provide participants with structured theological education and liturgical formation geared towards service in the Holy Diaconate of the Orthodox Church.

The Certificate Program in Prison Ministry

The Certificate Program in Prison Ministry provides clergy and lay volunteers who are interested in prison ministry with the necessary knowledge and experience to effectively lead and support people in prison. Join OCPM and St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary to be trained by the most experienced leaders in Orthodox prison ministry in the United States.
