St. Tikhon's Seminary Community

Formation In Community

Living & Learning at St. Tikhon’s

St. Tikhon's Seminary seeks to provide a residential learning environment dedicated to Orthodox spiritual formation and theological education, both in and out of the classroom, where students are challenged to achieve their full personal, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual potential. The Seminary seeks to form the whole person by encouraging students to be fully engaged in the learning process. While the curriculum focuses primarily on the student’s academic and intellectual development, the co-curriculum outlines seminary goals and objectives for student learning that take place outside of the classroom. Creating an environment in which institutional goals for student learning, growth, and development can be achieved ensures that St. Tikhon’s graduates will be prepared to meet the many challenges they will face throughout their lives, both as Orthodox Christians and as servants of Christ.

Connect With Our Community

Campus Involvement

From student organizations and choir to outings and family activities, there are many ways to get involved, build lasting friendships, and develop a strong support network that extends well beyond seminary.

Residential Life

On-Campus Housing

Residential life is an important part of the St. Tikhon’s Seminary experience, providing students and their families the opportunity to live within the Seminary community throughout their studies. Single students are provided on-campus dormitory accommodations, while affordable housing options are available for married students and families. In addition to existing married-student housing, four new units in recently constructed duplexes will be ready for move-in for the Fall 2026 semester.

Living on campus allows seminarians and their families to remain closely connected to the academic, spiritual, and social life of St. Tikhon’s while building lasting relationships within the community.

Spiritual Life

At the Heart of Seminary Formation

Liturgical life stands at the very center of the St. Tikhon’s Seminary experience and is an essential part of each student’s spiritual formation and life within the Seminary community. Students participate in the daily, weekly, and annual cycle of services through reading, serving in the altar, and singing in the Seminary Choir, developing practical knowledge and experience of Orthodox liturgical life.

The Seminary Choir also frequently accepts invitations to sing in Orthodox parishes beyond St. Tikhon’s, connecting students with the wider Church and communities they may one day serve. Residential students receive spiritual guidance from approved seminary or monastery clergy as another integral part of their formation. Learn more about spiritual life at St. Tikhon’s below.

Campus Leadership

Student Government

The Student Government at St. Tikhon's Seminary provides seminarians with opportunities to develop leadership, service, and collaboration while representing the interests of the student body. Through its elected officers, the Student Government serves as the official voice of the students, working closely with the faculty and administration to communicate student needs and strengthen the Seminary community. Throughout the academic year, the Student Government also organizes charitable initiatives and service projects that benefit the Seminary, the Monastery, local communities, hospitals, and Orthodox missions both at home and abroad. Participation in Student Government offers valuable experience in servant leadership while preparing students for future parish and community service.
